Cape May Point Sunset Engagement

The beach is probably one of my favorite places to create! So when Nicole reached out to me about doing their engagement session in New Jersey, I said “HELL YES!” We chose Cape May Point, so that we could have the beautiful golden hour light, soft sand in our toes, and even dips in the ocean!

The jersey shore holds a special place in both Nicole + Donny’s hearts – specifically Wildwood, NJ. Donny grew up there. Nicole visited every summer with her family. AND that’s where they met for the first time. They continued to spend their summers together there once they started dating, working as servers, growing their relationship, going on dates, falling even more in love. And it was instantly the perfect place for them to get married next May 2021 at The Assumption Church + Windrift Hotel Avalon.

I’ve known Nicole since elementary school. We shared the same teachers, same classrooms, and even the same cheer squad – Go Chargers! So ever since I saw Nicole start sharing this new man (hint, it’s Donny!) on Instagram, I could tell there was something special between them.

The first time Nicole + Donny met, there was an instant and unique connection. Nicole’s cousin was Donny’s coworker, and all it took was having them both over her house to meet for sparks to fly. They stayed up talking all night, even watching the sun rise together. (Some real life love at first sight stuff, if I don’t say so myself haha.)

Two months after that first night, Nicole moved all the way to Florida to do the Disney College Program. They didn’t want to give up on what they had, so they made it work, and their relationship immediately became stronger through the long distance. Nicole knew Donny was the one after surviving that.

Last February, after buying a fixer upper together the previous year, Donny popped the question. He told Nicole that they had to meet an electrician at their home one evening, but instead Nicole walked inside only to find Donny upstairs, standing by candles, rose petals, and huge balloons saying “MARRY ME.” He told her that he wanted to ask for her to marry him in the place where they would continue to grow their life and family together. And Nicole couldn’t have imagined it any more perfect.

I’m counting down the days right alongside them until I get to witness the best day ever, even more magical than their engagement session – is that possible?
