Rainy Nashville Lake Engagement

I first met Shannon four years ago sitting next to her in our screenwriting class at MTSU. She was one of the first friends I made who was a fellow filmmaker major. Her constant giggles and warm welcomes despite any bad day she might have been having made her hard not to like haha.

When we planned their engagement session, we knew we wanted to do it during peak fall season and have it by the water. Percy Priest Lake was the perfect spot! We even planned to have it at sunrise so that the sun would be right on the water, but the weather had other ideas. It was the rainiest weekend in Nashville with Hurricane storms passing through, but when we woke up that morning, it was only raining here and there and just a constant state of a misty drizzle. When I asked Shannon + Blake how they felt about it, they were all for it!

If you are a Twilight fan like me (and ironically, Shannon too), then get ready, cause you will definitely feel like your in Forks, in the middle of the woods, somewhere close by to La Push Beach, spotting Bella + Edward hanging out in the rain – haha, okay, okay, some mountains might be missing, but still! It’s quite close! And to me, it couldn’t have been more romantic (and fun!). Shooting in the rain can be rare and risky for a photographer, but I’m here to you it’s totally possible to still get those romantic dreamy photos if you are down for it!

And it couldn’t have been more fitting, since they will be eloping in Washington next October. Literally sitting here counting down the days with them until that magical weekend.
