The Venue at Birchwood Wedding

Carly + Joshua’s summer chapel wedding was one for the books. The Venue at Birchwood has to be one of my all time favorite venues just because of how simple, yet how elegant it is! It gives off a southern charm from its beautiful stone chapel and amazing reception space. The venue is secluded, and has such a romantic and intimate feel. Only a short trip from Nashville, Tennessee, The Venue at Birchwood is such a romantic place to hold any wedding!

Carly and Joshua met freshman year of college and have been inseparable ever since. From very early on, they both knew that they were going to hold a very important role in each other’s lives. Carly always mentioned how she felt that Joshua completed her in so many ways. He was calm, thoughtful, and quiet, and he brought so much peace and calmness to Carly. She called him the perfect balance to her storm. I could tell just from talking with both Carly and Joshua that they were perfect for one another. They were sentimental, they cared for each other, they had so many cherished memories, so I knew that their wedding day was going to be full of so much love. I knew how important these memories are to look back at and knew just how I was going to portray these two on their big day. When meeting Carly + Joshua’s families I could tell just how kind and thoughtful everyone was. Family was so important to each of them and it really showed throughout the day.

Carly + Joshua’s summer wedding started with Carly and her bridesmaids getting ready; they were all so beautiful and Carly looked absolutely breathtaking in the BHLDN gown. Once Carly was finished with her look we took her into her first look with the bridesmaids right outside the chapel- my heart melted- their reactions were everything! Once the groom and groomsmen were finished with their looks and after getting in some games of poker, we headed out to get some shots of them. We finished up and scooted inside the chapel to get some first looks for the bride and groom. Absolute pure bliss and joy coming from them both. We sent out to meet the family for some more first looks. There was emotion from the whole family, it was such a beautiful memory to capture between all of them. After getting first looks and portraits finished, it was time to get married! The ceremony took place inside of the chapel. The elegant whitewashed walls, and wood beams made for such a unique and picturesque venue. Creations by Debbie created some beautiful florals that went perfectly with the venue. Every detail of the wedding was planned out perfectly to give off a very natural and simple feel. The ceremony was intimate. It felt like time slowed down for everyone as we just got to look around during this beautiful moment and take in all of the love and light. It felt so surreal. The family shared some laughs during the speeches, some tears, and just an overwhelming amount of love for both Carly + Joshua. The reception later followed and everyone had a great time connecting, dancing, and just enjoying such an amazing and memorable day. I had the opportunity to work alongside Katie Osborne again, who planned an absolutely perfect day! She is the best!

I have always had such a passion photographing weddings because there is so much love and light throughout the day. I love capturing true, authentic, and genuine love. I find that with all of my couples each of them have their own story and their own unique charm and I love being able to identify that and capture moments from their big day solely based on who they are as a couple. I pride my work on creating timeless photos for everyone to look back at and feel like they are back in that exact moment in hopes to relive that love and joy once again.
