Cheers to these new FIANCÉS!
Vick + Brandy were visiting for a weekend getaway to Nashville all the way from Pittsburgh, PA. Vick was so busy with work that he was stressing about going on a vacation, but he knew it was going to be one of the most important trips. Little did Brandy know, it’d be a trip they definitely wouldn’t forget!
Vick was planning the perfect sweet proposal! He was super slick contacting me and making sure Brandy would find no trace to him booking me haha he was hands down, a pro at all the planning! We talked through several different location options trying to pick the best place that would also be easy to convince Brandy that it was a normal Nashville thing to do. That’s when Vick decided on downtown Nashville’s Pedestrian Bridge.
When the weekend finally came, Hurricane Delta was blowing through the city, causing one of the busiest wedding and event dates of the year to be challenged by the cloudy days, strong winds, and rainfall. We were a little unsure if the rain would stay away or not on Sunday, but we had hope… and it turned out better than we could have imagined! We got a perfect overcast evening and Brandy had no idea what was coming!
I brought my friend along for this session so that I could have someone to “photograph” on the bridge as I waited for them to walk to the planned spot. The bridge had a lot of construction going on, blocking half of the walk way, so I couldn’t be at a far distance or really “hide” as well. It worked great having a friend there! They walked right by us with no suspicion and Vick told Brandy to look out at the skyline so he could take a photo of her, when actually he was about to propose. It was magical! Even though a lot of thought went into the planning, working with Vick was so fun! He is quite the hilarious jokester. Fun fact: he pranked me by calling me two days before the proposal was planned and asking me why I wasn’t there to capture the proposal – I thought I totally got the days wrong! so I had to get him back by telling him I missed capturing the moment after he ACTUALLY proposed.. don’t worry, I captured it all!
