Katelynn and Tyler’s had the most dreamy destination wedding at the Hazy Mountain Vineyard in Richmond, Virginia. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and unbelievable views. I truly could not have pictured a more relaxing and fun filled day for these two newlyweds. When I say my breath was taken away multiple times through the night.. I am not kidding!!
I’ve known Katelynn and her family since grade school, our families growing up in the same parish. And even though I haven’t seen them for quite some time, I immediately felt welcome and at home being a part of their wedding weekend! It was such a joy! Katelynn and Tyler even added to do some beautiful portraits the evening before at Shenandoah National Park! But back to the wedding day…
The day began with Katelynn getting ready in the bridal suite at the vineyard, surrounded by all her closest friends and family. The ladies wore forest green dresses from Birdy Grey and had their hair and makeup done by none other than Megan Lorson and Jessi Lynn! A dream team to say the least. The room was filled with excitement and anticipation, oh and her sweet sweet pup too! She was zipped up in her gorgeous gown, found at the dreamy Tiffany’s Bridal Boutique, by her mother. Right before heading down for her first look with Tyler on the rolling hills of the vineyard. Tyler was dressed in a dapper tux from Men’s Wearhouse. Classic is an understatement!
As the ceremony approached, guests made their way to the outdoor ceremony site, which was nestled amongst the vines and framed by the rolling hills of the Hazy Mountain vineyard. Steel Cut Flower Co. curated a neutral and whimsical arch of flowers for them to be framed by. Katelynn walked down the aisle with her father, and Tyler couldn’t take his eyes off of her. Cue the tears, so so many tears!! The couple exchanged heartfelt vows, and even had an eagle soar by as they shared their first kiss. Picture perfect.
Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a cocktail hour on the terrace, where they enjoyed wine from the vineyard and delicious (and incredibly beautiful!) hors d’oeuvres. The reception was held in the vineyard’s rustic structure, which had been beautifully decorated with floral centerpieces and candles. Hazy Mountain Vineyard is perfectly suited for a wedding, being that there are endless rolling hills and so many incredible locations for timeliness photos. Golden hour was at its peak, so we of course snuck off for more couples portraits!
I am a sucker for parents’ first dances, and these surely did not disappoint! The newlyweds then shared their first dance, and then guests hit the dance floor to celebrate the happy couple. The night was filled with laughter, toasts, and a jam packed dance floor! The love these two shared shines so bright! And I’m wishing them a lifetime of happiness (dog snuggles of course)! Hazy Mountain Vineyard was the perfect spot for their destination wedding!
